Tessel is a PhD student applying deep learning and machine learning to multimodal cardiac data, including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, and cardiac MRI, for improved risk stratification and diagnosis.
She holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering (Medical Physics) from Delft University of Technology (2025) and a BSc in Nanobiology from the same institution (2022), preceded by studies in Biomedical Engineering at Harvard University (2017–2019).
Between her BSc and MSc, Tessel worked as a Motion Planning Engineer at Project MARCH, a student-led initiative, developing an exoskeleton to help individuals with paraplegia walk again. This experience strengthened her interest in engineering with real clinical relevance.
