A. Floriaan Schmidt is an Associate Professor in computational medicine at UCL and AUMC. His research focuses on cardiovascular genetics, drug target identification, and risk prediction using genomics, imaging, omics data, and electronic health records.
His group had pioneered work on human genetics to inform drug development and have expanded this to integrate multi-modal data from population cohorts and biobanks, as well as from clinical cohorts.
The group is supported through various grants from the British Heart Foundation, the Dutch Heart Foundation, UK research and innovations, Horizon Europe, including an ERC Consolidator award.
